The Studio
One person, one wheel, and a kiln that runs hotter than a Vegas summer.
Formintera started as a single bag of clay and a secondhand wheel. It turned into a nightly ritual: throw, trim, glaze, fire, repeat. Every piece in the shop was made start-to-finish by hand — there are no molds and no production runs, which is why each listing is exactly one piece.
How pieces are made
Most work is wheel-thrown stoneware, fired twice. Glazes are layered by hand, so speckles, drips, and color breaks land a little differently every time. If a piece survives both firings and still feels right in the hand, it gets a number and goes in the shop.
You can also find Formintera in person at farmers markets around Las Vegas — the online shop and the market table share one inventory, so the piece you're looking at is the piece you'll get.
